SealTeach History
The initial COTSEAL distribution list was manually handled by Dr. Prawet Jantharat, COTSEAL secretary during 1996-1999 term. From the expansion of the list of interested COTSEAL members, and with the shared topics of discussion and shared members with THAITEACH, a mailing list handled by a list server program housed at NECTEC, it was agreed that the two lists (COTSEAL and THAITEACH) should merge. SEALTEACH is thuscreated.
Thaiteach was initially proposed by Dr. Yuphaphann Hoonchamlong in the July 16th 1995 meeting of the Council for the Advancement of the Study of Thai (CAST) to provide
a channel of communication and discussions for those interested in Thai languageteaching to non-native speakers. During the early years, Trin Tantsetthi and Pattara
Kiatisevi <ott@nectec.or.th> provided technical set up and
technical support for SEALTEACH. EALTEACH had been hosted by NECTEC from 1995 to 2008. The list relocates to Linguist List in 2008.
